A Real Offspring of the National Liberty Movement.

We at DPI are some of the original pioneers of the national libertarian movement that has been sweeping the US since 2006. We are non-partisan, as was the original movement. Today, many of the national movements have been taken over by one political party or another, but not us. We are dedicated to being inclusive of anyone who supports the Unalienable Rights of Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness of every American citizen.

This is no longer about left or right, liberal or conservative, this is about the survival of Liberty itself. We cannot allow the media, businesses, and governments to divide us or control us any longer. It is time that we break free of labels. There are people on the lunatic fringes of society who want to negatively label a person with a heart and love for social equality as a "liberal", and those who want to negatively label people with a love for their nation and values as a "conservative". But the terms "liberal" and "conservative" are not bad words, in fact, they can, and do, coexist. The real difference is not whether we are liberal or conservative, but whether we are totalitarian or libertarian. Totalitarians want the government involved in your personal life to tell you what to do. Libertarians do not. It's that simple. Libertarianism is the founding principle of this nation, totalitarianism is not. And I mean the practice of being a libertarian- not the political Libertarian Party, a party that doesn't practice what they preach lately.

A liberal is not a name to be applied to an individual. Liberal is an ideology- a noble ideology that promotes equal justice under law, the same social ideology that our Founding Fathers followed- that all human beings are created equal and entitled to personal freedom. Most rational people in today's society are, by the original definition of the word, liberal, in the social sense. Even aside from the way the right-wing political pundits like to put a bad spin on this term, people who value social justice and love do not wish to take away people's freedoms or property. People who claim to be liberal do not want to take over our nation, indoctrinate your children, or steal your guns. They aren't lurking in some sort of evil cabal planning to implement a Communist totalitarian dictatorship. All that people who claim to be liberal want is a society where people get along with one another and are safe, happy, and healthy.

A conservative is also not a name to be applied to an individual. Conservative is an ideology- a noble ideology that promotes personal responsibility, dedication to one's nation, and a social code of ethics- another one of the same ideologies that the Founding Fathers followed- that all human beings should value the life and property of another, and should put their nation and Constitution as priorities- putting our nation and our people above profit and power. Most rational people in today's society are, by the original definition of the word, conservative, in the personal sense. Even aside from the way the left-wing political pundits like to put a bad spin on this term, people who value religion and follow personal moral codes do not wish to take away the rights of others to do as they wish as long as it harms none. Conservative is about loving and taking care of one's family and friends, and making sure that the decision-making processes in our government aren't knee-jerk reactions that will bring about negative change. Most of us have to be financially conservative in our day-to-day life because we don't have the money to spend as much as we want whenever we want to. People who claim to be conservative do believe in positive change.

We are all liberal and conservative, because it is natural. We are all human beings with different opinions, but we at DPI are of the mind that no one has the right to take away that freedom to have our different opinions. What we are against is the method by which some people in today's world have abused their freedoms and powers. There are some who use the media, their corporations, their non-profit organizations, and our governments, to promote and speak divisive messages with the targeted intent to make people hate one another and cause violence. We believe that such actions are contrary to our natural rights as human beings, as we believe that all human beings are created equal.

The time has come to take this nation back from people who want to cause harm and strife among the citizens of the United States. And at DPI, we pledge to be a positive driving force in this journey to reclaim these United States for all of our citizens, by influencing policy in all aspects of our society- in media, in business, and in government. Although some of us adhere to different ideologies, the one common thread that unifies us is one of Liberty.

Let's go to work.
